About Jack McKissock
Real Rock Stories Host, Jack McKissock
Jack McKissock has taken his life long passion for music and turned it into his career. He's had a 24 year career in radio that got its start at the legendary station KNAC in Los Angeles. He started out as an intern just one day after enrolling in radio broadcasting school. After a short two weeks, the stations van driver quit and Jack became a paid employee. Two months later at a very rowdy company Christmas party, Jack was the only sober person and an inebriated program director slurred out these famous words, "Kid you're on the air tonight.'
During his eight years at KNAC he did the morning show and a weekly program called "Radio Cathouse" with MTV's Riki Rachtman. After the station's abrupt format change, he moved to sunny Florida, to play golf and within days a PD from Tampa called and offered him a job on a new classic rock station. Jack has worked in two other markets in Florida doing morning shows and specialty interview shows. Throughout his career he has interviewed everyone from AC/DC to ZZ Top.
During his time in Los Angeles Jack hosted the TV show called "Request Video." He was also chosen as one of four finalists for the Fine Living Network's "The Wandering Golfer" There were over 15,000 entries. He came in a close second during the televised Finding of the Next Wandering Golfer show.
